I don't really light a lot of candles except in winter myself - but I still tend to use them as decoration. (I have a couple of glass candlesticks in which I change the colour of the candles now and then, even if I never light them!)DawnTreaderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04533307672147117843noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4609118120551505936.post-20564846736451803662021-11-29T15:31:07.270+01:002021-11-29T15:31:07.270+01:00Hard to say, Ginny. I know the German and Swedish traditions are rather similar when it comes to celebrating Advent, although we usually have our candles in a row rather than in a wreath :) DawnTreaderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04533307672147117843noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4609118120551505936.post-38990120427175297682021-11-29T15:22:13.374+01:002021-11-29T15:22:13.374+01:00Thanks Terra. I've always loved the way you use so many candles in Sweden, even when it's not dark.
For years I used to buy packs of candles on each trip to Sweden - coloured ones were not something readily available in the UK. Just plain white for use when there was a power cut!
The Amaryllis is amazing - what a beautiful flower.
Happy Advent to you, too.Coppa's girlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16459503600694841117noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4609118120551505936.post-36414342684649243872021-11-29T06:25:20.213+01:002021-11-29T06:25:20.213+01:00Your Amaryllis is gorgeous! No snow yet here at O.K.‘s, but yesterday we spotted a light white dusting on the Black Forest hills rising nearby. I have just lit the first of four tealights in O.K‘s star-shaped glass candle holders and am looking forward to lighting the first candle on my Advent wreath at home tomorrow evening.Librarianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05704656564078750607noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4609118120551505936.post-14071893285201564822021-11-28T17:47:10.562+01:002021-11-28T17:47:10.562+01:00You are celebrating Advent in a wonderful way: the...You are celebrating Advent in a wonderful way: the pure white star and candles, the Amaryllis open, lighting the first Advent candle and a light snow falling.
