Photo from Borås City Park, 4 November 2026. The blue sculpture, called Vibration, was created by the French artist Xavier Veilhan, for an international sculpture biennial in 2014.

When the Vibration sculpture first appeared in our city in 2014, it was in a different location from now - near the Textile Fashion Center; which was also opened that year. (The Center houses not only our Textile Museum, but also the Swedish School of Textiles, and some textile related businesses.)
“Thematically, his [Xavier Veilhan's] works revolve around our memory and our perception. He creates astounding effects by placing familiar objects in environments in which they appear foreign. - The horse and carriage, Vibration, stands out as almost as an illusion in blue. It takes its starting point in Italian futurism, a direction within art in the early 1900s that constantly strove to express movement.”

I remember this! I love it!! And that second shot with the blue windows and sky is amazing. It does look like a dream or vision. And it does look like it is vibrating.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of good vibrations, I am loving that art installation that gives the illusions of vibrating. It truly does, and I like the contrast up against the windows reflecting the sky. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteThe blue certainly makes the statue stand out.
ReplyDeleteI remember this sculpture from previous posts, too, and the photo with the blue sky puts it in perfect position.
ReplyDeleteI love this Vibration sculpture. I am always amazed by artists, their work and imagination and skill in executing their vision.
