Skywatch Friday

Wildflowers have been sown on a grassy patch dividing the walkway from the street in my neighbourhood. I think the main purpose is probably to attract bees and butterflies - but I find them very attractive as well!

On the other side of the street you see the stone wall on the west side of the cemetery. Usually I walk on the inside of that wall, which is why I haven't spotted these flowers before!

And looking in the opposite direction, there was a very artistic sky formation! :)

It's getting warmer again here, but today still not unbearably hot for a short walk before lunch. (I made sure to bring a bottle of water with me, though!)

    1. PC I have seen it before along some roads on the outskirts but not within the city. But then in most streets there is no grassy space like this dividing walkway and street.

  5. I am always happy to see clouds making such pretty patterns. And Hooray for the wildflowers! We desperately need more of this to happen all over the world, to keep the bees and butterflies happy and pollinating.

    1. Sandra, if forbidden or not I don't know, but in a place like that it, it wouldn't occur to me to pick them. Better for both nature and myself if I just go back and revisit them where they are! ;)

  7. What beautiful flowers on the roadside. Those poppies really stand out.

  8. So pretty to discover these! Along the interstate highways here are huge beds of daylilies, so golden splashes in geometric flower beds are seen in the swoops of green between exits and overpasses.

  10. On top of being very important, the wildflower strips are beautiful. It always lifts my spirits to spot wildflower borders near fields or roads, or better stll, entire meadows such as there are in the area where O.K. and I spent the first five days after our wedding.

  11. The sky is gorgeous! Especially alongside the stone wall and cottage-like buildings. Daisies and poppies I am thinking. So pretty and fairytale like!!
