Shower

It's been raining all day today - so I decided it was a good day for putting up my new shower curtain in the bathroom!

I found it last week in a shop in town where I went in primarily to buy a couple of new towels. (...All this frequent hand washing lately!...) I've also been thinking for a while that I'd like a new shower curtain - but that project has been on hold, as I've not wanted to go into a lot of shops. Now, this one just happened to be there, next to the towels... I fell for it immediately, so no further search needed! (Pattern named 'Wisteria'.)

It is GORGEOUS! The prettiest shower curtain I have ever seen. I love wisteria, and we have a wisteria plant out back that Phil trained into a tree by twisting it up a pole.

What a great find! Wisteria is a beautiful plant, and it looks really nice as a shower curtain :-)
New towels? I have only just made two from a very old one (almost as old as myself) which I love for its nostalgic value to me. It is still good quality but had a tear at one side, and so I simply tore it in two. Now it is too small for a shower towel, but I have two practical "new" hand towels.

Ginny, I'm not sure I've ever seen Wisteria in real life (only in photos and on TV). Looking up the Swedish Wiki article, I see that our name for it is "blåregn" = blue rain.

Meike, I think the last time I bought new ones was when I moved into this flat 12 years ago. And those have been washed and tumbled dry hundreds of times since then - each time leaving some lint in the drier filter... I was curious to see how much difference 12 years of use really makes. Just gave the new ones their first spin today before putting them to use. First impression is that they do feel about twice as thick and fluffy as the old ones... I think I may end up buying a few more new ones, and giving some old* ones to charity/recycling.
*(but not so old as to have nostalgic value!)

Sandra, I love the way the pattern has been painted, like watercolour. (Just hoping the paint won't dissolve in water...!)

Graham, it feels like a piece of art and I think I could happily live with it for a long time :)
