Another sunny and really cold winter day today. I was out for about half an hour in the middle of the day, walking very slowly with support of both my poles. Above a photo from the playground park in the middle of the housing estate; but mostly I just walked back and forth on a path along the football field for a while, because it was both sunny and quiet there. Safer than the street, and hardly even any other people about just then.

On Friday afternoon I bought the first ice cream stick for the season (classic chocolate-covered vanilla), and sat down for a while on a bench in the neighbourhood playground park to eat it.
A few more photos from my walk back from the city centre on Friday afternoon. (Cf previous post.) These are all apartment blocks (fairly new condominiums) along the walkway by the river that I followed part of the way home. They look strangely different now at night because of all the added Christmas lights on the balconies and in the windows.

Days are short here now, and even in the middle of the day the sun does not rise all that high over the horizon... Which also affects when and how it shines in through my windows, and what objects it hits when it does.
The bookcase in my living room
Two items on the wall in my study... The cross was a gift from an elderly relative of a friend of mine, with whom we + another friend spent a night on a holiday trip way back in 1977. (She gave each of us a different gift from her "collections".) The picture below the cross is my own framed photo of someone else's artwork on an outdoor exhibition, probably over a decade ago now. (One of several stone slabs with words on them, in the lawn in a park).

Tulips in bloom now
Soooo much birch pollen this year... Causing problems even for those who aren't normally all that sensitive, I think! My own confirmed allergy is primarily to grass, and a fairly recent test said nothing about tree pollen - but that still doesn't stop me from reacting with asthma, occasional violent sneeze attacks amd itching eyes after having been out among them for a while... (And in spite of asthma and allergy meds.)
More photos from my walk in the afternoon of Midsummer Eve. As I said in the previous post, it was very hot - and along the way, choosing where to go, I came up with the motto "no more than two minutes between shadows"... (phew)
