In general, I'm not an early riser; but yesterday morning I happened to be temporarily up on my feet just before 6 a.m. Looking out of the window in my living room, I was met by this view - slightly alarming at first sight...
Just sunrise and trees, though, reflected in the windows of the next building!
Walking over to the kitchen, on the other side of the building, this was the view:

Yesterday, when I took these photos, the sun rose at 05:51.
I went back to bed afterwards - the Sun did not.
Between yesterday and today, the Sun too seems to have had second thoughts about rising that early in the morning - so today it didn't get up until 06:48.
Yes - Daylight Saving Time is back again - or "summer time" (sommartid) as we call it here in Sweden. (And as usual, I don't see the point of it...)
Remains to be seen what clock I may have forgotten to change this time - usually there's at least one, which I don't discover until later...
welcome to the spring forward time of the year, we have been in it 2 weeks now.. such a silly thing that we change and change and we all change at different times. that is awesome of the house that looks like it is on fire. we could add a little smoke and make it flaming. sky is stunning and reflections are amazing to me.. it has taken me the two weeks to get adjusted, i don't like it any better but have ajusted
ReplyDeleteSandra, if memory serves me right, the EU came to a decision a while back to get rid of the time changes, but then still could not agree on whether to keep winter or summer time as normal - so we're still stuck with the changes! [duh]

ReplyDeleteLast night before I went to bed, I went round and changed all the clocks. I always worry that I haven't set the timeclock on the central heating correctly and I'll wake up to a cold bathroom. The annoying thing was trying to get the oven, and microwave housed below it, synchronised. I thought I'd done so well and managed them all, until I looked at my watch this morning!
No, I don't see the point of changing, either.
CG, this time I remembered my watch. And luckily my micro and oven are old-fashioned enough not to bother with clocks. When putting together this post it struck me that my camera might be on winter time - but that turned out to still be on summer time ever since last summer... :)

ReplyDeleteThey said on the radio what you wrote in your reply to Sandra: The EU have decided to abolish the twice-yearly change, but so far have not agreed on which time is to be the permanent one, and how to go about it. Understandably, they have other things to deal with at the moment, but this has been going on for years and years.
Meike, yes, as you say, these last couple of years there have of course been more important matters to deal with. If I hadn't happened to be up at sunrise, catching these photos, I'd might even have skipped the usual grumble about the time change here on my blog this time! ;)
