Today (Maundy Thursday in English, Skärtorsdag in Swedish) was the warmest day yet here this spring, with temperatures up to around 22-23'C (71-73'F) in the afternoon. On my usual walk around the old cemetery, I noted that various bushes and trees are turning green now. Possibly it might slow down a bit over the weekend as lower temperatures are predicted to return - but on the other hand, som spring rain might work wonders as well...

ReplyDeleteAmy, cemeteries in Sweden are generally well maintained. This one is very close to where I live and I usually pass it, cross it, or just go walking there almost daily.
DeleteDid you put the pansies on the grave? I love the Chestnut tree. and your decorations are wonderful, such cheerful yellows. I especially like the row of little peeps and the black & red rooster
ReplyDeleteGinny, that grave still "belongs" to my aunt who lives in another city and pays a fee to have it looked after by cemetery staff. (My brother and I do the same with the graves of our parents and paternal grandparents in a village outside town.) I just "keep an eye" on it for her and send her a photo now and then.

DeleteA few sunny hours can make a big difference this time of year, and an entire day even more, as is obvious from your pictures of the cemetery. We have finally had some badly needed rain - not really enough, but better than nothing, and now it's grey and chilly.

Meike, if memory serves me right, I think the "fluffy little friend" used to belong to my grandmother. He's a bit smaller than the five singing in the choir on the shelf above, and seemed happy to go and visit Barbie and Skipper instead... ;)

DeleteCheerful photos. Spring has so much yellow to uplift our spirits. We had some rain here today, after many weeks of drought.
