Mystery Image

Can you guess what you're looking at?

  1. This is a really excellent mystery photo!!! I need to try posting some, too. Well, I see maybe a foot at the top. In the center it looks like the bottom of a drink can. And maybe a remote on each end? Maybe getting ready for an evening if T.V. watching?

    1. Ginny, well spotted with the foot, and you're not wrong about me watching TV when I took the photo - but... (cf my explanation below)

  2. I'm no good at these things. Vacuum cleaner? It will be so obvious when you tell us, Monica.

    1. Janice, if I was giving out prizes, you'd get a consolation one for the most original answer...

  3. I'll vote for a hot water bottle.

    1. Not a bad guess Barbara - even if it was the exact opposite! (See my explanation below.)

  4. Yes, of course. It's a cool pack wrapped in fabric (a towel or blanket?) and positioned on your knee to help getting rid of the swelling.

    1. Meike, you have a keen eye for details! (se my extended explanation below)

  5. I can just make out part of your ankle and foot at the top of the photo. So I think that you have a couple of what we call "carvers" (plastic blocks filled with liquid which you freeze) on either side of a chilled drinks can?
Whatever it is, I do hope that it gives you some relief and reduces the swelling.

    1. Carol, no drinks can involved in the photo, but otherwise you're not far off!

  6. Thanks to everyone above for "playing"... Meike's answer comes closest and is actually pretty much spot on - it is indeed a cool pack (ice pack) wrapped in a kind of fabric and placed on my knee to help reduce the swelling (for a while now and then when resting.)

What I really took the photo for, though, was to show my "invention" of how to fasten it on my knee/leg. But then I started wondering if anyone would get what the photo was showing at all, by just looking at it... ;-)

Anyway: Besides first wrapping the cool pack itself in a piece of bandage, I have then used another folded piece of tube bandage on the leg to make a "pocket" to keep the thing in place - so that it doesn't accidentally fall off if I happen to move without thinking...
