Barbie and Skipper went to the beach (in their original 1960s outfits) but I'm staying in. No early walk for me this morning as there was thunder in the air, and storm warnings. Not much wind actually followed - but a lot of water did fall straight down for a while.
27C indoors now and about the same outdoors. (Y-day we reached 33C outdoors.)
Testing blogging this from my phone. Very fiddly, so this is all you get today! 😎☔️🌞
ouch 27 degrees inside your house? Do you have air conditioning? I think in my menopause state I would be beside myself.
ReplyDeleteAmy, A/C is rare in Swedish homes, our houses were built to keep out the cold in winter rather than heat in summer. I live in a rented apartment in a brick building, which in a long heat wave tends to absorb heat rather than keep it out. No A/C. I have fans running in every room but they only help circulate the air, they don't cool it. The heat wave is breaking now but it will take a while to get back to normal indoors. Weather unreliable so can't keep windows open in the night.
DeleteMy Skipper doll had that same outfit, but she had really long hair. I wish I knew what happened to her. I have heard the heat wave is slowly making its way east, so hopefully you will be cooler soon.
ReplyDeleteRiver, yes, cooler air is following the weather front with thunder that passed here y-day. Balcony door open and windows ajar this morning - while I'm in and awake to supervise. I know from experience it will take a while for the indoors temp to drop though. Heat still saved "in the walls"...
DeleteThe Skipper doll did have long hair originally (I cut it off myself ~60 years ago).
I had 8 dolls of the Barbie family, they all lay packed away in a box in various storage rooms for 50+ years, until some years ago I decided to donate most of them to a charity shop - but.also decided to keep these two + a selection of clothes (most made by my mum). They are now active part of my home decor rather than just packed away. I change their clothes now and then according to season. I feel I made the right decision. I don't regret letting the rest go on to new adventures, while I quite enjoy still having these two.
