You have to be there at just the right time and do not have much of a window, do you? Most of ours have not turned yet, the date is to be October 15th. Your seasons come at the same time as ours do!
i really really like this.. and the tree with hardly any leaves is beautiful. that blaze of color only last a few days and you caught it perfectly... they are still pretty just on the grass. and i see your grass is still a pretty green.
I haven't been into the Lews Castle Grounds to look at the trees since I came back but I would imagine with the storms we've had there will be few leaves left on any trees in the Islands.
When we left for a short trip to sunny, warm Arizona, our maple trees were just starting turn turn. I hope they last more than a week so we can enjoy them a bit before the leaves fall. - Margy
I am glad you were there to take the pictures on the 1st! Although the ones from yesterday are still beautiful. Trees have their very own beauty no matter what time of the year. Over here, it is still rather mild but has become wet again. Later on in the week, we are to expect temperatures as high as 25 Celsius again!
Yes, the grass is still pretty green. We haven't had much frost yet - which is why I'm a bit surprised some trees have still dropped almost all their leaves already. But I guess autumn has a habit of taking us by surprise almost every year!

That's great! Transition caught. I couldn't do it coz they change so fast and I was simply unable to be there at the right time.

It is a great pity the autumn leaves can't last longer.

So tempting and colorful.... its just beautiful....:)
You can predict the date?!
I agree there is some luck involved (or walking the same path frequently, always with the camera...)

I can imagine, GB, that with so few trees on the island to protect each other from the winds, they probably drop their leaves even faster!
It depends so much on the weather, doesn't it, PRB? (At least around here it does.)
I agree, Felicia. Subtle changes at first, and then at the end all it takes is a bit of wind...
I agree, Adrian. November would be a lot more cheerful if the colours lingered on!
I agree that even bare branches against the sky have their charm, Meike. Still, I would not mind if the leaves stayed on for a bit longer...
Thank you, Priyashi.
Great pictures!
Thank you
