SkyWatch Friday

Another week of quickly changing skies - sun popping out one minute, heavy rain pouring down the next...  I'm feeling a bit "under the weather" - like my body not quite keeping up with it all. The season of blankets and candles and lots of mugs of hot tea is upon us!

  1. Sorry you're not well, Monica. Hopefully, snuggling under a comfy warm blanket and having many steaming mugs of tea will make you right as rain again soon!

    1. Meike, I seem to be rather sensitive to fluctuations in barometric pressure (more and more so with age, I think), which is probably what I'm reacting to now as well - with headache and aching joints etc (but no fever or sore throat). Blankets and tea are no 'cure' but help to keep warm :) I like the English expression "under the weather" as that does express how I feel. We don't have an exact equivalent in Swedish.

  2. Still very hot here! Will it get cold there a lot sooner?

    1. Ginny, the putdoors temp at the moment is around 15C (~ 60F). That's not what I'd call cold (and everything is still green outside) but it's been very rainy/wet/humid lately; which affects the indoors climate as well. So it feels chillier than it really is.

  4. We haven't quite got to that yet. 13 ℃ here which is about 3 ℃ less than out midsummer temperatures.

    1. Graham, it's around 15°C here so not really cold. It's just been so damp/humid that it's starting to feel chilly and autumn-like anyway. (You being used to the Lewis weather, I suspect you might feel right at home with it...)

  7. You make it sound so cosy and huggable. Try tumeric and pepper capsules for the aches and pains. They work for me so they might help you.
