Down By The Riverside

Some photos from a walk along the river on 1st May.

I liked the view better before the Tower of Babel turned up on the horizon. Let’s turn our backs on that and walk in the opposite direction (starting from the bridge just beneath it.)

A last look back before I turn away from the river to go back home… Tower still there in the background behind the trees, of course. Pretty hard to get away from, being the highest building in town!

  1. So pretty! I wish we had a river walk like this. We do have a walking trail, but it is not this pretty, nor is it by the river. Actually I like the tall building. It adds height and interest. I covered it with my finger and compared views!

  2. A grand set Monica. The first and ninth have perfect tone depth and composition.

    1. Thanks Adrian. A dramatic sky is usually helpful!

  3. Thank you for taking us along on your river walk. Having just one really tall building there is not too bad, I think.

    1. I agree it could be worse, Meike (and probably will be, in the future, as more high ones are planned around town). My personal opinion is that they should have kept it lower, though (seven storeys lower and it would be hidden from my view from home by trees, at least in summer...)

    1. The camera is a great tool for making views look even more attractive, as you know... That tower is hard to cut out without downright falsification, though! ;)

  6. A very pretty walk, minus the tower.

    1. I do appreciate that they're trying to extend the possibilities to walk close to the riverside (and they have done that behind the new buildings - you could not walk there before, when that area was occupied by industrial buildings).
