One of the modern signs of spring around here is when you innocently walk into town on a Saturday and find the city centre turned into, for example, a giant obstacle course for an ActionRun.
Aren’t there any normal people around??
I made my escape while there was still a chance to sneak out of the crazy maze without climbing, jumping, running or swimming.
(This last one obviously not mine, but snapped from the local newspaper.)
It looks like great fun - except for the swimming. I am not good with cold water.
ReplyDeleteI have to confess, Meike, that to me it looks like an open air torture chamber...!
DeleteOnce the weather gets warm, there is ALWAYS something going on there!! FUN! Was the run for a charity or something? Or just a spring challenge? They really did it up right and put a lot of thought and work into it! Glad you escaped with your life!
ReplyDeleteI've not seen any charity mentioned in connection with this. I guess some people must think it's worth while for its own sake, even if I will never understand why! ;)
Deletei loved seeing all the STUFF they have done and will do but would not want to try it myself. they close the streets down here for racing and parades and all kinds of things, even boat races. but not like this
ReplyDeleteThis time I was just glad that I went into town early and was able to do my errands before chaos broke out, Sandra!
DeleteThis looks good but still no sign of any free pie.
ReplyDeleteI did not see any free pie or cake either, Adrian. So I went home! ;)
DeleteThey sure go to a lot of trouble to build obstacles. I was thinking it would be a lot of fun for the young and reckless, but then I noticed one of the competitors is not all that young.
ReplyDeleteNot even back in my reckless youth did I ever enjoy this kind of activity, Pauline... ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on this one Monica.
