Experimenting with uploading a video clip...
From my phone via email to the computer,

Just wanted to show you this rotary candle holder with Moomin characters... a Christmas gift from my aunt. The Moomin mug next to it is also new - it was a Christmas gift from myself to myself! :)
I send from my phone to computer and then just upload the movie. I don't go to youtube at all. I know you can post the video from your phone to FaceBook, but another step to put on blog.
ReplyDeleteIn the past I tried uploading videos from the computer without going through Youtube, but failed. (To FB ok, but not to Blogger.) So I didn't even try that this time...
DeleteYour video turned out well! I used to have one of these when I was a child! Only the figures were angels blowing trumpets. Happy New Year, Monica!
ReplyDeleteGinny, the one(s) I remember from my childhood had angels, and also made a tingling sound as they went round and round. We didn't have one in my home but I think one set of grandparents did, or maybe it was friends. Anyways I remember the sound as rather annoying. Tnis one is silent, which I appreciate! :)
DeleteGood job on your video. My niece from Sweden gave us one several years ago.
ReplyDeleteDoes yours have Moomins too, Wanda? Those I've seen before have usually had angels on them. And I think I've seen one with hearts.
DeleteHappy New Year.
ReplyDeleteYou have good tech skills.
We have a candle ornament similar to yours but with merry-go-round horses and a clown. We turn the rotor over the other way so that the ceiling fan makes it go around. (We lit the candles once but the temperature difference was not enough for the air to rise and turn the rotor.)
Louise, I noticed that when the candle had been lit for a while, the movement got slower and almost stopped. I guess a hot climate has the same effect!
DeleteI know I put a video on a few years ago but I've totally forgotten how I did it. That's the problem if you don't keep practising something. Any way, the candle holder looks great. I seem to recall one like Ginny mentioned but I don't know whose it was.
ReplyDeleteSame here, John. I don't do videos often enough to remember the next time how I went about it last time... :)
DeleteIn The Woodlands in November I bought one with reindeer this year and the person I was with bought the one with angels blowing trumpets. It's a small world.
ReplyDeleteYes Graham - it's a small world, and it goes round and round...! :) I found I like this one with the Moomin characters because they are all different from each other. Somehow that makes it more interesting to watch - but at the same time also kind of meditative (without making me dizzy).
