Oops, just noticed that I haven't posted here since last weekend! It's been a snowy week, although not with so much snow as to make life really difficult. On Wednesday morning (Dec 7), I called my hairdresser and asked if she could fit me in (before it got worse), and I was lucky: She had an opening at 2 p.m. that day. So I walked into town then, had my hair cut, and then walked back via the main square and the park, taking some snowy photos.

It was a very cloudy day and felt almost like twilight, although it wasn't really quite that time of day yet. (I've edited some of the photos to bring out the colours better.)
Monica, you have such pretty scenes in your town and a river walk too. I like the bunny and the horse and carriage, original and whimsical. Your card arrived safe and quickly and I think it will be the most beautiful one I receive this year, with Aslan and you.

DeleteWhat a fun post to look through! I love those decorations in the trees. They look like a cross between birds and greenery. And the wire trees, are they wire or mesh? Very pretty. And I had forgotten the big blue carriage and horse, that is just supreb!
ReplyDeleteGinny, I'm not sure what you mean by "wire trees"? The trees are real, while the artwork I suppose is a combination of wires and textile.

DeleteThe snow around the sculptures makes them look more special. Do you have to be careful walking in the snow in case you fall over?
ReplyDeleteAmy, this time round it's been mainly dry snow falling on dry ground, and it has stayed cold (below freezing point); so not too bad, if you have the right kind of shoes/boots. Besides boots with studded soles I also usually use one or two walking poles for support in winter. (Two can be a bit much to handle when going into town, especially if one also needs to do some shopping - but one can still be useful, especially when crossing streets etc.)

Meike, we have several of those hooded green little creatures around town this time of year - supposed to be some kind of 'Santa' or elf figures, I suppose. And I think the parcel is supposed to mark the front... But looking at it "through your eyes" now, I can totally see what you mean - it could just as well be walking away from me... (lol) Art critics are muttering about them, not considering them 'proper art' as they're not made by 'proper artists'... I say never mind, as the same thing goes for most other Christmas decorations!
