The past three weeks or so for me have involved quite a few reminders of "life and death" - either because of recent happenings, or related to anniversaries, or just one memory stirring another... The other day my fluttering thoughts led me to turn to the Bing Image Creator and ask for some stained glass windows - like in a church or chapel. I named certain things that I wanted included (like cross, sunset, leaves and flowers, birds and butterflies); and I actually love all four of the designs that AI came up with on this theme. So I just want to share those with you - with some quotes picked from Goodreads.
“Where there is sorrow, there is holy ground.”

“I hold it true, whate'er befall;
I feel it when I sorrow most;
'Tis better to have loved and lost
Than never to have loved at all."
Verse XXVII
― In Memoriam

“I thought I could describe a state;
make a map of sorrow.
Sorrow, however, turns out to be
not a state but a process.”

they are all gorgeous and worthy of a cathedral or 4. each one has something i love which keeps me from picking a favorite.
What a great idea, and it did such a good job. My favorite is the first one.
You sure know how to get a great result from AI, Monica. I'm obviously not given it the right instructions. And I love the quotes you found to illustrate your windows.
You and AI created such beauties, I have never tried AI. My favorite window is the first one, and that Tolkien quote is profound.
These are beautiful! Some of the most beautiful stained glass windows I have seen - with the advantage of being able to see them close up at my own height - are in a little private chapel just outside Sasbach-Walden, a picturesque Black Forest village where we‘ve been for walks a few times and are sure to return to.
The windows depict the seasons and show trees, flowers, fruit and produce from the land as well as the sun, sky and - if I remember correctly - birds.
Sandra, I feel the same (each one a favourite for different reasons)
Thanks Ginny. I was surprised to get four results so different from one another and yet all of them very good.
Pauline, it still seems very much a "lottery" to me how the outcome will be. But it seems to me that the AI enjoyed doing stained glass windows! :)
Terra, winter has been a good time to experiment a bit with AI as the outdoors has had very little variety (of the fun kind) to offer lately.
Meike, I'm glad I thought of trying this. I had in mind to try and look back in my archives for photos of actual stained glass windows from churches, but that would be a very time consuming job (as I usually only file my photos by date)...
These are beautiful, and so realistic. I can just imagine them in a peaceful place of worship.
Me too, Carol
