Cherry Blossom 3

Still wearing my winter coat... But a little bit warmer today, no wind, and glimpses of the sun. So I grabbed the opportunity for a rather pleasant walk into town (and back), to get some things from the pharmacy - and to just enjoy the progress of spring on the way. (If anyone is wondering about the building in the top photo, in the past it was a spinning mill, but is nowadays home to various offices and businesses - including a fitness gym.)

(Saving a few more pictures for another day.)

Just back from our trip away to find our cherry and apple trees have burst into blossom. All frothy white and pink. Such a lovely welcome home!

I also love these two large green trees. And YES, I had wondered about the building. I was thinking of the Textile Museum.

Love seeing your spring blossoms and new greenery.

Those old mill buildings would not look totally out of place in Yorkshire, would they!
The spring blossoms are simply beautiful. I am almost sad to report that they have nearly all gone here by now. Instead, everywhere is emerald green.

Ginny, actually this building WAS home to the Textile Museum for a while in the past; but nowadays it's located in another part of town (and has been as long as I've been blogging, I think). We have a lot of old textile mills in this town!

Thanks Barbara

Meike, we have lots old textile mills around town that have been converted for other purposes. Many have been torn down as well but I'm glad they're also preserving the town's cultural heritage.

Hope you get to enjoy them for a while, JayCee!

Everyone must be breathing a sigh of relief to see the blue skies, beautiful blossoms and the new greenery on the trees. I hope that you don't have a sudden return to winter!

Thank you for sharing more images of your town in sharp spring light. Days like this draw us out of our homes and help us to feel more fully alive.

I love the cherry blossoms! They do the same to old mills along a river here too, turn them into office buildings and sometimes, lofts for rent. I once went to a lovely wedding in an old mill like the one you have pictured. It was lovely.

Lovely blossom, can't get enough of it. I love this time of year (though it's currently too cold!)

Carol, so do I! The forecast now is actually for warmer temperatures next week.

True, YP. Hopefully the month of May will offer more of them!

Sandra, I had a few I wanted to save for Weekend Reflections...

Thanks Kay. Some of the old industrial buildings are really beautiful pieces of acrchitecture - something I think one rarely sees in new buildings for similar purpose nowadays, I think...!

Same here, Jenny. They now predict warmer temperatures here next week, though.
