Skywatch Friday

Sunset views from last Sunday, 26 July (at 21:16)

Since then we've had a "mixed" weather week, starting with rain (showers), followed by hot weather from further south in Europe suddenly visiting again for a couple of days (culminating on Thursday with around 31'C) - but then, without much drama, back to cooler temperatures around 20'C again yesterday...

Not all easy to keep up, but I'm thankful that the heat only lasted a couple of days this time, as that meant it didn't have time to heat up the indoors temperature much. Wednesday was laundry afternoon for me, which kept me inside. On Thursday I went for a short walk before noon (i.e. before it got "too" hot), but then shut myself in behind closed curtains etc during the afternoon. On Friday it was cooler but instead very windy, so I wasn't out for very long then either - but was able to let some cool air in at home... :)

Kept to shadowy paths on the old cemetery on Thursday...

  2. Hello! I am sorry that I have been absent from blogging for a while but am now catching up with everyone again.
I love those sky photos. So dramatic. Thankfully the heatwave passed us by but we have had quite a lovely summer here. It's good to see you are well and still getting out and about x

    1. Welcome back, JC. I don't cope well with hot weather so haven't really been doing much this summer. But have tried to at least get out for a little while most days.

  4. It's such a relief when the weather is cooler, though wind isn't a lot of fun.

    1. Janice, I agree. A cool breeze after a period of hot weather is very welcome, but preferably not TOO strong...

  6. Your skies are as changeable as the week itself, but that tranquil sunset seems to promise calm amid the shifting weather

  7. Good sky photos!
The heat here in Germany was one thing I dreaded to come back to after such pleasant temperatures in Yorkshire for almost two weeks.

  8. Shadows are nice to walk under when it's boiling hot, I would be sitting on a bench/chair in the cemetery to rest, have a nice week.

  10. Those sudden heat spikes earlier in the week look brutal, though hiding beneath the cool shade of old cemetery paths must have offered sweet relief. Late July sunsets provide pure magic when the weather finally settles. Glad you managed the laundry routine plus a quiet morning walk before the furnace kicked in.
