A few more photos from my walk back from the city centre on Friday afternoon. (Cf previous post.) These are all apartment blocks (fairly new condominiums) along the walkway by the river that I followed part of the way home. They look strangely different now at night because of all the added Christmas lights on the balconies and in the windows.

ReplyDeleteBookworm, yes it does. In the daylight one pretty much just thinks it's a lot of white and glass!
DeleteI doubt if there is a time of year or time of day when your city does not sparkle, Monica. But it does look particularly pretty decked out in its Christmas finery.
ReplyDeleteThanks Pauline. Feeling flattered on behalf of my town! :-)
DeleteI like looking at people‘s Christmas lights, too. Some are rather ghastly, but some are very beautiful.
ReplyDeleteMeike, I agree. I prefer "simple" white lights myself - and above all, not flashing!
DeleteIt's so nice to see how many people do put up decorations and lights in celebration of the season. I spotted some electric advent candles, which reminds me to put mine out.
ReplyDeleteCarol, when I happen to be out and about in the dark this time of year, I always enjoy looking for advent candles and stars in other people's windows. Quite a few people in my immediate neighbourhood now are immigrants though (or descendats of), so may not been as keen on this tradition as we who grew up with it (whether 'religious' or not)
Deletethese are so pretty with the lights, nothing like light to make something not so beauiful look fantastic. love these photos.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sandra :-)
DeleteLooks very Christmasy and cold.
ReplyDeleteAmy, if I remember correctly, it was around -6°C and a bit windy too, so yes it was cold...
