We had a wonderful early spring day here yesterday.
Sun shining from a blue sky, and nature beginning to show some colour again. I took the camera out for a walk, and as sometimes happens, it took me for a somewhat longer stroll than I had expected. It was that kind of day – and I was not the only one to think so. The first sunny spring day always brings about a remarkable change in city life:
Students sitting on the stairs outside the college.
The outdoor tables at the riverside café suddenly very popular again; and not an empty park bench in sight.
The playground in the park crowded.
And the mallards proudly pruning themselves!

i can tell by all the people enjoying the sun how happy you are... the ducks look happy to. love the reflections and the children on the see saw... and in the first photo i like the lamp in the center of the photo. so much detail in these and you already know i love to see your city
A wonderful walk, it's spring here today but no flowers yet. It does lift the spirits but then we are getting close to the equinox.
Looks like you're having a lovely spring, we're way behind here with few flowers even blooming.
Your photographs expressed what a wonderful Spring Day! Good job.

You live in such a great corner of the world. Everything is so relaxed and calm. Beautiful images.

Whereas we have enjoyed a lovely, long summer, it seems to me it was an equally long winter for you guys in the north half. It's good for the spirit to see such lovely spring scenes as a little chill creeps into the air here. Love the ducks, you must be adding wildlife photography to your many skills.
Your first sunny spring day at long last...I am happy for you.
The mallards are beautiful.....great photos Monica.
Are those really naked kids on the see saw? Very interesting.
I would have done the same, Monica - staying out for a longer walk than originally anticipated. It's such a shame I am confined to the house this week, when we are having such beautiful, beautiful weather! I look out of my kitchen window at the spring-flowered garden of my neighbour and wish I could be out there. Ah well, my time will come :-)
Well Virginia, I would not say "really" as it is only a statue. But the statues are naked, yes. The real kids in the playground all had plenty of clothes on, though! Even in the sunshine it is not all that warm yet!
Thanks all for your comments. We're still enjoying mostly sunny weather but with colder winds blowing.
I'm sure this was a wonderful day for you with all that great sunshine!
I can see myself there drinking coffee and doing my crossword sitting in the sun. Bliss.
