Easter Tree

Glad Påsk = Happy Easter!

A decorated birch tree in the town square has become an Easter tradition in my town since… I’m not sure when, but I don’t think it was until some time this century. It connects to older traditions of bringing branches into the home and decorating them with colourful feathers and eggs for Easter, though.

I’m feeling awfully behind with catching up on friends’ blogs as well as my own lately… I’m hoping for a quiet weekend with time for a bit of that…

    1. I did not see them put it up. It wasn't there on Thursday; but it was there on Saturday... So I'm guessing they must have done the job on Friday... :)

  3. Feathers are an unusual Easter decoration for me, but of course it makes sense - both eggs and feathers come from birds, so I shouldn't be surprised :-)
    Fantastic blue sky there, Monica!
Happy Easter to you, and I hope you get the peace and quiet you long for.

    1. So far, so good, Meike. As usual everything I set out to do on the computer seems to take longer than I thought, though. (My own brain is probably as much to blame for that as the computer...)

    1. Thanks Jeannette. And I too find the Easter tree in my town a good idea, as there is usually not much colour in nature yet at Easter, around here. Especially not when Easter comes early, as it does this year.

  5. Your town square is becoming quite familiar. I like that.

    1. That's how I feel about some views in your neighbourhood, too, Graham :) (both in Lewis and in New Zealand)
