    1. No Sandra, the lake is not flooded. (If anything, we've been having a very dry period here lately - no rain for weeks.) The building is part of the bird sanctuary so is some kind of bird shelter. I suppose it may be built on some kind of jetty or raft - I've never really thought about that. There are a few rare/foreign species in the sanctuary as well as the common ones that are free to come and go (fly) as they please.

    1. Yes, they look funny, don't they. They seem all to prefer having their own seat!

  3. At first I thought they were real birds. Then I thought no...it is too perfect...it is more art. Now I see they are real, and one on each pole! How cool! And now tell us about the little house that is drowned.

    1. As for the house, see my reply to Sandra! (It is some kind of bird house and it is not drowned.)

  5. What a neat place and the gulls all lined up on the fence are super fun to see.

  6. I wonder why the birds don't seem to perch on the poles closest to the shore. Keeping away from people, perhaps? And I'd love to know why the majority of them are facing in the same direction. The prevailing wind?

  7. I too was wondering about the building. It's rather strange.
