We had a rare glimpse of sun and blue sky over the wintry cityscape today. Appreciated by both people and birds – and even sculptures!
No one sitting on the stairs leading down to the water, though!
There was a flock of (whooper) swans swimming in the river by the park.
“A swan may stare at a human, as well as the other way round!”
One thing I love about the camera is the option to just zoom in on the things I want to see…
(… and ignore, for example, the highrise buildings on the other side of the river…)
So gorgeous! I have seen several kinds of Swans, but not Whoopers! I enjoyed looking at them. My favorites are five and eight.
ReplyDeletelovely series of photos....
ReplyDeleteno need to crop photos when you have a long zoom. these photos are amazing. your hometown is always beautiful, no matter the season. the swans have cold bottoms in that icy water and we would have icy bottoms on those steps... they look beautiful with snow on them.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos, but look oh so cold.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures, I'm glad you had some glimpses of blue and sun for a change. It was/is rather mild here this weekend and today; I think we had about 15C yesterday, and for the first time in weeks, O.K. and I were able to go for our customary Sunday morning run.
ReplyDeleteNow it is raining, but still mild - the ideal weather to spurn on growth!
The snow and the light give a remarkable serenity and brilliance at the same time to the pictures.
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone. Just about the same cold weather today, a week later... Just a little less snow on the trees, and those streets where the sun has had a chance to do its job. (And there were no swans to be seen on the river today.)
