Remember how hot and dry and brown everything still looked around here at the beginning of August?
Well, another month has gone by. It’s now September, and officially Autumn… However, Nature still seems a bit hesitant and not sure what to believe. With fresh green grass springing to life everywhere again after the August rain (and still rather mild temperatures), now it rather feels like a strange mix of Spring and Autumn all in one!
Photos from a walk today, across the old cemetery nearby, and back along the river and the little park by the dam and waterfall at one of the bridges.
A magpie enjoying a walk in the fresh green grass.
The mallards seem to enjoy standing on the very edge of the waterfall! (Well, I guess that’s okay if you can both fly and swim…)

silly ducks, what a place to shower... all those flowers are magnificent. truly a beautiful outing, so much to see, so little time... maybe nature is doing one last beautiful moment before it zaps you with snow.
Great photos, does look more like spring than fall.
I love the tree reflection in the first photo of the tri-collage! And the mallards playing in the waterfall, what a catch that was! The blue flowers and bee are gorgeous, as well as all the blue flowers under the big tree. The tree itself is beautiful! Magpies are so smart, wish we had some around here. I have never seen a real one. We have plenty of crows, though.
Thank you for that lovely walk! My favourite pic is the magpie (I just did a post with a Eurasian magpie in too). I am now refreshed from your walk and ready to start my work again here in cold NZ.
Looks like a really nice place for a walk, nice to see the purple flowers.
I can see what you mean about the strange mix of spring and autumn - that green is definitely too "fresh" for September, but this year, everything was a bit "too" of something, wasn't it? :-)
Sandra, I hope it will be a good while yet before nature zaps us with snow!
Ginny, we have plenty of both here (magpies and crows).
Glad you enjoyed it, Kate! :)
Amy, it's a place I pass by often - but as usual, when I bring the camera, I see so much more...
Meike - definitely a lot of "too" this summer, yes... ;) Just now we're actually having a pleasant late summer / early autumn, though - with temps around 20'C (which I personally much prefer to 30'C!) Just a bit strange with the colour scheme of autumn kind of going backwards and getting greener again.
Thanks Janet. It was a nice day to be out with the camera :)
LpLove and cute green.. captures.wow..
Well I don't see any spring-like weather here although the rain has meant that the grass in my garden is certainly very lush and green. However most of the plants have finished flowering and have have suffered from the recent high winds.
