The Beauty of Late Summer

A flower bed in the old cemetery where I often walk.
Photos from a couple of weeks ago.

Summer is beginning to slowly turn into autumn,
but has not yet given up...

Wow, lots of beauty. I recognize the Zinnias, but what are the lavender flowers, Foxglove?

I got carried away with your post yet again. This time I was trying to find out what the flower in the second picture is.

There are a few gardens in my neighbourhood that are at their best this time of year, with flowers just like the ones in your pictures. Their colours are wonderful!

I'm afraid I'm not sure of the name of any of these flowers.

I wonder if we appreciate late summer flowers more because we know they will soon be gone. I have an app on my phone called Plantsnap. Take a photo of a plant and it identifies it for you - most of the time accurately. Doesn't seem to like plants on a screen though.

Love seeing colour in cemeteries, says to me that there is life where there is death.
