Another cold and sunny day today, and I took my Sony camera for a walk down to the river to look for more ice and reflections. (It has a better zoom than my phone camera...)
Taking a photo of my own shadow taking a photo of... etc...
Ginny, my balcony is of the kind that you can see on the red brick building in the fourth photo. And on the 2nd floor out of three, so not all that scary... :)
JayCee, sunshine and blue skies does make it a lot more tempting to go out even in cold weather. This time of year I often wait until after lunch, though.
So glad you were bundled up to take those photos. The thing that gets me about using the phone camera is that one hand has to have a bare finger to work the shutter. I hope your camera's shutter was friendlier!
I have the same question as Ginny, I could never go out on one of those balcony's and it does look beautiful and cold... glad you are able to get out and walk
Amy, I do try to get out for a while nearly every day. Even in cold weather it's usually okay as long as there's not too much wind blowing. (And wearig proper clothes for the climate, of course!)
Icy here, too, but only Saturday was sunny. Sunday was grey but remained dry so that we were out walking for a couple of hours (well wrapped up, of course). And doesn‘t it feel particularly nice to come home afterwards, for a hot mug of tea or coffee and a biscuit or cookie?
Meike, one thing that usually gets me out for a little while even on a grey day is that it usually feels good for the blood circulation if nothing else - I usually feel warmer after getting back in again!
Stunning photos, but surprised to see such a tall building. One of the charms of your towns was the lack of high-rise, and the beautiful wooden buildings. Much as I've always loved Sweden, and at one time we even considered retiring there, I'm glad I live in a warmer climate these days. Better for the old bones!
Carol, it's the tallest building in our city (so far). And the one you can see in the background to the right is the next tallest, somewhat newer. A third "tower" in the city centre has also been discussed/planned, but so far not yet realised. I keep hoping they'll scrap the idea...
I'm getting cold just looking at these. The really tall building....from the outside, does your balcony look like the ones on it?

DeleteOh...freezing!! I love the reflections. Almost makes you forgive the temperature.

ReplyDeleteBarbara, I'm afraid my camera shutter really does require bare fingers, too... (brrr)

ReplyDeleteSandra, walking as such has been no problem this past week - the pavements and walkways have not been slippery.
DeleteGood to see the river flow
ReplyDeleteLooks very very cold but it's so good to get out in the fresh air.

DeleteI hope you were wearing your thermal underwear Monica!
ReplyDeleteYP, thermal outerwear has been sufficient so far!
