The weather situation around here has been pretty much “stuck” lately: Temperatures shifting a few deegres up or down around freezing point – with snow one day, rain and thaw the next; then freezing again and dangerously slippery; more snow on top, and then back to rain and thaw and ice again etc…
The collage was made from photos taken a couple of days ago near where I live.
The balancing position of the boy on the turtle is not unlike the art of walking on icy streets…
… which means I haven’t been going very far!

i like that statue. we are having the same thing, but no ice/snow. but up down/up down temps and rain, it can't make up its mind what it wants to do... i like the tree between the benches and in good weather would like to sit there. love the way the road goes away into the distance in the top right
I like the cute statue..and the comparison to walking on the slippery ice.. Lovely photos and mosaic. Have a happy new week!
A good comparison of balancing on the back of a turtle to trying to keep upright on icy sidewalks. I keep thinking I'd like to get a walking pole or two with the attachments for icy terrain.
Thank you for linking to Mosaic Monday.
Wow! So do you have to just stock up a few days before a storm? But you can only carry so much...how do you handle it?
Beautiful collage of photos. I like the statue. We had 15 cm. of snow last night so it's very pretty with the fresh snowfall. Take care on the icy sidewalks.
Nothing worse than trying to walk on frozen rain. I have a pair of rubber over shoe things with little spikes on. Brilliant they are.
I like the collage!
Saturday night, it started snowing, but it all disappeared during Sunday. This morning, I have woken up to what looks as if it is going to be a complete snow-day. The sky is grey and "thick" enough fo hold plenty of snow for the next 12 hours at least.
These last couple of weeks have not been stormy, just snowy/rainy/icy. But you are right - shopping in winter is, or used to be, a big problem. This winter less so, though, since my supermarket introduced online ordering and home deliveries. Works like magic :)
I have some of those spiky anti-slip thingies too, Adrian. My favourites just go over the heel and have leather straps with velcroe around the ankle. Easier for me to put on. (Can't be worn with heels too high or narrow; but I prefer sturdier boots in this weather anyway...)
We have the same kind of clouds here today, Meike... And the snow has started to fall.
I do have a pair of those Judith, and I sometimes use one when I feel in need of extra support.
Oh the fickle weather of winter...it is here too and much too cold.
Nice shots! You need to buy broddar!
I have them, and I use them, Fiona :)
Walking on icy roads is a problem for everyone of course but since my knee started to fail I've realised more and more just how I used to take my physical fitness for granted.
It's very easy to take health and fitness for granted until it begins to fail in one way or another, isn't it!
