Awesome to see the wood anemones en masse, very much like the trilliums in Ontario that carpet forest floors. Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday Dawn.
These are so pretty! On Sunday, I want for a walk with my Mum and we were in the woods, too. There were plenty of anemones, but only the ones at the border between fields and woods were wide open, the ones further in looked as if they had retreated for the night already, even though it was mid-afternoon and there was plenty of sunlight in the woods.
This is just a very small copse of wood quite near where I live. It takes two minutes to walk through it from one street to another... Unless, of course, you stop to take photos and pretend you're in a "real" wood... I am glad to have these little "glimpses" of wild nature close by, though.

ReplyDeleteThanks for linking to Mosaic Monday Dawn.
They are just lovely! And the ground is almost carpeted with them!
ReplyDeleteI love Wood Anemones but we don't have any locally and I can't think of anywhere that I've ever seen a carpet of them like yours - it's delightful.
