Outdoor Wednesday: Cherry Blossom Trees

DSC_0039

Walking into town this morning, I noticed that the early cherry blossom trees are “suddenly” bursting into bloom. The photo above was taken with my phone, as I didn’t have the camera with me (going shopping).

Seeing this tree, I knew that I would have to go out again in the afternoon and check on a certain park in the neighbourhood of where I live too… And on that walk I brought my trusted camera as well.

Some camera photos first – they’re all unedited.

And then I took some with the phone as well.

As it’s rather hard in bright sunlight to see how you are managing to focus, I have to say I was pleasantly surprised when I got home and saw the result. The phone camera is definitely growing on me, now that there are more things in nature to practise on. I had not expected the close-up shots to come out that good.

The collage was made directly in the phone – easy peasy… And then just a click to post it to my FB page… (Blogging takes a lot more work, even when not editing the photos!)

  2. I would never have thought some are taken with your phone, especially the close up ones. Everything is so beautiful now. And the pink trees with the beautiful blue sky make gorgeous pictures.

  3. How utterly gorgeous. I can never identify trees, I rely on the old song, "Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom White", so all pink flowering trees are cherry trees and all white flowering ones are apple trees.

  4. Your phone camera is really good! The cherry trees are soooo beautiful. Every year, I regret that the time of trees in bloom is so short - and it seems even shorter for us here this year, as it turned warm-ish very suddenly and we've had no proper rain for weeks. The magnolia trees were in full bloom for a mere week, I think, and I am glad I captured them on camera in all their glory.

  5. The cherry blossom trees are spectacular...very pretty, and it must be nice to have the town filled with these beautiful blossoms all over.
I hardly use my camera anymore, since I find my phone does a great job...your phone took some lovely photos too.

  8. Thanks everyone for your comments. I agree with Meike (Librarian) that the time the trees are in bloom is much short... Often over almost before you've had time to enjoy it! Today it's windy and tomorrow we might have rain... Remains to be seen whether that slows the process down, or just blows the flowers away!!!
