A postcard of the Swedish flag.
I don’t have a special category for flags in my postcard collection. Can’t remember if I ever received any flag cards from other countries (and in that case, where to look for them).
In Sweden we celebrated our National Day / Flag Day this week, on 6th June. See my photo post from that day.
Flags are strange things. In England , generally speaking, the Union flag flies and people think of it as 'English'. In Scotland one will rarely see a Union Flag but the Saltire flies everywhere.
ReplyDeleteGraham, I had to look up the Saltire - again. I recognised it when I saw it of course, but I keep forgetting!
DeleteIt is gorgeous! You know I have always loved your flag! Of the flags I can remember, this is the prettiest. How is your elbow?
ReplyDeleteGinny, I have to admit that flags is not a category I'd be keen to choose in a quiz.
DeleteI love flags of all kinds! That is a beautiful flag! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteThanks Diana. It's my favourite, but then I'm somewhat biased!
DeleteIt's so nice to see the Swedish flag waving on a bright blue sky! Thanks again for the flag card you sent me and for sharing this one. Have a nice weekend Monica!
ReplyDeleteThanks Maria. I kind of suspected you might include that card on your blog, so I chose a different flag view here on mine :)
DeleteI really like the blue flag against he blue background, I would think I would not but it is beautiful...
ReplyDeleteI think I see what you mean, Sandra. One might think the blue of the flag would not really stand out against a blue sky - but somehow it still does.
DeleteThis isn't a category for me. I don't send flags usually (except if someone request it specifically), but I keep receiving them from time to time. As I wrote in Maria's blog, it's a good way to learn. I agree with Sandra and you, about the unexpected beauty of the picture.
