I'll get back to reporting on "other things" another day. Meanwhile, here are some photos from today, to prove that I'm still upright and walking... :-) Today's walk went from home to the park in the city centre - and passing two old cemeteries on the way. I kept my camera busy so this is just a selection...
I love going on walks with you! I think my favorites are the first picture, and the enormous yellow tree. Why is that couple standing on a bench? Are they even real people? With all the art there, it can be hard to tell!
ReplyDeleteGinny, yes, they are real people. Not a 'couple' though, but pre-teen boys, with their mobiles. Which in my book means their reason for standing on top of that bench may have been anything or nothing... ;)
Deletei would have no trobule at all getting my 1 mile walk a day in if I had this beauty to walk in. I love, Trees. I love stone. I love archtecture. I love murals, you have all of that. I just glanced up and saw Ginny ask why are they standing on the bench. I totaly missed that. so now I to wonder, looks like taking photos. hummmm
ReplyDeleteSandra, they were pre-teen boys with mobiles but why they were standing on the bench I don't know. It struck me afterwards though that maybe they were involved in one of those computer games where you have to interact with real physical environment. There was one very popular a year or two ago (or whenever it was). The name escapes me now but for a while there were lots of people running around with their phones chasing digital characters outdoors. Perhaps some still do!
DeleteAt long last the name of the game popped up from the depths of my memory: "Pokémon Go". And according to Wiki it was launched way back in 2016 rather than just a year or two ago. Kids today may already consider it ancient history. What do I know!!!
DeleteUpright and walking is a good thing! Beautiful fall colors and a lovely walk.
ReplyDeleteThanks SPP :)
DeleteThe autumn colours somehow emphasise the number of trees in your city. It's also such a beautiful sight and that has to be good for the mind whilst the walk is doing good to the body.
ReplyDeleteGraham, you're right about all of that! :)
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite walking places is an old cemetery. It's huge and goes back to the beginnings of our town (which is recent history compared to you). There are such stories to be told in those epitaphs. Once we were walking and I found myself studying the grave marker and recognizing the names on it. They were the original owners of one of our houses dating back to 1830.
