I received an email from someone asking me how to receive updates from this blog. This reminded me of the FeedBurner changes announced by Blogger back in the spring, which I have to confess I never quite managed to make heads or tails of.
However, I have now installed a new email subscription gadget in the sidebar. If you signed up for emails in the past, and that stops working (or has perhaps stopped working already), you can sign up again with this one from follow.it. (Please note that no old email subscriptions have been, or will be, transferred automatically.)
You will find the new email gadget just under my profile at the top of the sidebar. The image below is just to show you what to look for. (If you are reading an app version of the blog you will need to go to the web version to find the sidebar.)

i am going to sign up here for yours, i want to see what it sends. i tried a few and did not like that my name and address goes with each email. will let you know. i will cancel it after i see it. thanks for the info
ReplyDeleteSandra, let me know how it works. I haven't even tried it out myself yet! I suppose perhaps it serves a purpose mostly for those who like to read blogs but aren't blogging (or using Blogger) themselves.
DeleteI didn't know they had replaced it with this.
ReplyDeleteGinny, I'm not sure how much Google/Blogger are involved. There may be other similar services available as well, but I happened to find this one. I've had it written down on a note by my computer for months but never got round to check out how to install it until now (when someone actually seemed to miss the option...)
DeleteI follow your blog in two ways, in case one way stops abruptly, which could happen. I follow you through bloglovin dot com and through the blogger follow button. I noticed the email follow for my blog ended, as they told us, but haven't done anything to add a new follow way. Too much tech stuff, and abrupt changes. Good luck with your new email follow link.
ReplyDeleteBloglovin is one I've never even heard of... There are probably lots more I never heard of either! On my tablet and mobile I use Feedly.
DeleteThe follow.it gadget wasn't hard to install, but as it's not very often nowadays that I fiddle about with the basic layout of the blog, it still takes time to get back into all that, each time...
