Leaves Keep Falling

CIMG1640-001

As I mentioned “the War of the Worlds” the other day, I suppose I’d better put in a post to say I’m still standing  (it’s just the leaves that keep falling)…

I have actually been feeling a bit “off” for a couple of days after the flu-shot. I still prefer that compared to having to fight “the real thing” later on in the winter, though. (I’ve not been feverish or anything, just a little bit extra tired and achy.)

There’s been a shift in the weather today, from milder to colder. For a while around lunchtime I thought I’d be able to go out for a sunny walk later in the afternoon… But before I had time to go out, the sky was again an angry dark grey and had started spitting out something that looked and sounded suspiciously like it might even be half-frozen… It didn’t really come to much - I was able to nip out to the nearest convenience store later, without getting wet. But the wind had turned icy cold…

And the leaves keep falling!

  1. According to the weather forecast, we're in for that cold turn tomorrow; Saturday's "high" is supposed to be at about 2 Celsius, when on Wednesday, we still saw almost 18 Celsius during the sunny afternoon.
    Leaves everywhere here, too.

    1. We had -4 this morning when I got up (and I did not get up early!). It's been a long time since we were anywhere near +18 though. On the other hand, up in the North they're already having snowstorms, so I try holding back on complaining too much!

  2. 2.4 deg here this morning but bearing in mind I'm only 100m from the warming influence of the sea that's pretty chilly. Oddly enough it doesn't look that cold when you are sitting in a kitchen centrally heated to 22 deg. Sorry you've been off but that's certainly preferable to a bout of 'flu.

There's something peaceful about fallen leaves in the sunshine. It almost looks as though you've arranged the leaves.

    1. Ah yes, I did of course spend hours moving those leaves around until I got the perfect natural spread... ;) No, no need for that. It's the sun that has been the more difficult ingredient to find lately!

    1. I have four winter coats/jackets, I could lend you one ;) This autumn it's been more slosh slosh than swish swish among the leaves though so I think you'd need to borrow some boots too...
