Well, one of those jobs that might as well be done on a rainy day, I suppose! (Have to confess it's a job I'm not sure I've ever seen being done before at all - washing lamp posts?)
i thought they were changing the light bulbs, we have seen them here changing out the bulbs when they burnout. have not seen anyone washing them though. but they might since i rarely go down where they are
Meike, I went by the same spot today and that lamp post is indeed rather rusty (and probably others nearby are in similar condition). I do think this was just a high pressure wash, but it may have been done in preparation for a new coat of paint, perhaps. Time will tell!
Graham, I agree. Actually yesterday, they were painting one near the bus stop when I was going into town - in a street "just around the corner" from where I took these photos the other day.

I can't say I have either but they are obviously equipped for the job.

That was my first thought too, that they were changing the light bulb. But then they turned on the water...
He would have lost his job in Texas. We have had enough rain to wash the lamp post away.
I have never seen that being done before. How interesting

Never observed that, either. Is it possible that the job is not so much about washing but they apply something with the water to stop corrosion?
Actually so have we, LV...

I have. Great photos!
Surely it must be in preparation for treatment of some sort. I find it hard to believe that one would just wash lampposts.
