Winter Reflections

Thursday was the coldest day we’ve had here so far this winter.
In the morning it was around - 16°C, and ‘typically’ this was a morning I had to get up and out rather early (for me). Brrr! These photos were taken with my mobile phone on my way back from town, around 11 am.

The name of the sculpture in the river is ‘Bodhi’, made in the image of its creator, artist Fredrik Wretman. Those of you who have been following my blog for a while have seen him before. He does not always wear a white cap and shawl, though!

Beautiful shadows and reflections. Brrrr that is cold!! I am ever thankful for the mild Florida winters, even when we are having a cold spell and must wear a sweater.

Brilliant blue sky, the way it only looks in winter!
-16C is a little too cold for my liking... we get this kind of temperature, too, but thankfully, not so often, and not (yet?) this winter.
Bodhi is a sensible man, wearing suitable winter attire for this kind of weather :-)

Love the sculpture's profile brooding quietly on the river. Lovely snowy worlds.

I have seen this sculpture here several times but not with a snow cap on head and showers. i love the 'icy look' of the first photo, not just a shot of ice but the whole photos is icy.. beautiful.

That's cold! But then you are a long way from the sea. It's 11℃ here today! Your pictures are delightful though.

Cold, but beautiful. It never fails, if I have an early morning appointment it will be cold.

Hope it doesn't get any colder for you...stay warm.

Back to milder weather today. Not Florida-mild, but fog & thaw...

There are few things as blue as the sky on a clear, cold winter day :)

-16°C is really a little too cold for my liking, too, Meike... ;)

Shooting against the low light this time of year is a challenge, this photo needed some editing to show more than silhouettes :)

It was a triple-layer-of-clothes kind of day, namaki!

We're back to +2 or so here today, Graham. Fog and slow thaw...

Seems to be a law of nature, Janet! ;)

We're back to temperatures just around or above freezing point here, Virginia. Today I've kept warm by staying in, not feeling very tempted to go out in slush and fog!

The first image says it all. It does look cold but very beautiful.

That does sum it up, Adrian!

Beautiful wintry shots!

I guess the cold is the price of such beauty. Because it is very beautiful.
