That's true about the "hushed" feeling... all sounds are dampened by a layer of snow. It looks like a true winter wonderland there in your town.

We are climbing into double figures Monica and snow is nowhere to be seen. Would I rather have snow or the forecast gales? It's a hard choice.

Sunny today and even colder - and the snow still hanging on to the trees as it's very still. Remains to be seen how much longer!

Graham, I'd say the combination of snow and gales is probably the worst... The snow we've had this week has been the well-behaved kind, though. I.e. it fell straight down and stayed where it landed. The temperature was down to -15°C or so this morning. But no wind.
