That Time of Year

Only three days left of October... The leaves are dropping fast from the trees now; and tonight before I go to bed, I'll be changing a number of clocks back from daylight saving time to "normal" (winter) time...

For the record, I still wish we'd stop this nonsense of fiddling with Time twice a year. (I keep repeating that every time.) For my own part I feel like my Body Clock is pretty much stuck on Normal Time all year round, but changing the clocks messes with my daily routines, and keeping in sync with the rest of the world. (Like meals vs certain radio and TV programs, and when to go out for walks. Things like that.)

I am with YOU! It is ridiculous to change the time twice a day, and there is no good reason to do so (at least by MY reasoning!) These clocks in a deep woods are fabulous!!! I want to try something similar, but without copying you. We have not changed our clocks yet.

I agree, it is a bit difficult to adjust to the time change and my dog expects to be fed at the correct time each day, so he will expect dinner when the clock says 3:30 (vs. usual time of 4:30) when we change them. We are changing the clocks next week here in the USA, you are ahead of us.

I don‘t know anyone who says it is a good thing, this twice a year change.
For me, sunset now being at shortly after 5:00 pm means I have to alter my after work walks considerably; they will have to be on an extended lunch break or, if that‘s not possible, I have to stick to where there are street lights.

I have complained twice a year, since all this time change madness began. it interferes with our natural rhythms of life. I don't know anyone who likes or loves them. LOVE th AI clocks all of them

Couldn't agree more, Monica! It's such a nuisance to have to change all the clocks - and for no advantage. At the moment it is quite light again at 7 a.m. when I get up, but that will soon change and it will still be dark at 8 a.m. One advantage, living this far south in Europe, the evenings don't get dark until around 18:00 hrs (or 6 p.m.).
When we were both working, my husband and I didn't put our clocks back until Sunday evening which gave us the advantage of that extra hour. Of course it didn't work in our favour when the clocks went forward!

Ginny, if you should end up with some similar images to mine, that will not be you copying me, but AI copying itself... (LOL)

Terra, if it's hard enough for us humans, it must be even harder explaining it to a dog... ;-)

Meike, today it started raining here before noon and (unusually) I haven't been out at all. Now it's 16:45, still raining and darkness has fallen...

Sandra, I'm very curious as to what the man in the bottom left photo is really supposed to be doing to that clock...

Carol, to add to the time confusion it's been dark and rainy here all day today! Sunset was around 16:30 according to Google...
