I received my 99th and 100th Postcrossing postcards yesterday. Both of them were sent from Moscow, Russia – one showing a cathedral, and the other a monastery:
I think the word minaret is only used for the prayer towers on muslim mosques, Ginny. These buildings are Russian Orthodox Christian cathedrals. I think the gilded round roofs would be called domes?
What lovely postcards.....they open a world of wonder to places that one may never see.
