As some of you may remember: At the end of August we finally, officially, put The House up for sale. I’m happy to report that last Friday – four weeks after the first ad – we (my brother & I) signed a contract with new owners, who will be taking possession already around 1st November.
Per & I then spent the rest of that day clearing out the few “personal” items we still had left in the house. A few last pieces of old furniture and kitchenware we have agreed it’s okay if we leave behind (for them to do with as they please).
So not much (if anything) remains to be done in the house itself now before we hand over – perhaps just saying a final goodbye. The rest is just “paperwork”.
The image above is a Picasa overlay collage of two photos: The original house as built by my grandparents in 1930, and the extension added by my parents in 1992.

I bet that is a weight off your shoulders. Now, just hold your breath until you have their money. It isn't completely over yet.
YEAH, you are BACK!! I am so glad about the house. Now with winter coming on, you will not have it to fret over anymore. Are you sad or glad...I imagine many mixed emotions. The overlay picture is so fitting and wonderful.
Congratulations.
That was quick!! But didn't I say in one of my comments that I was sure the house would be grabbed up in no time? It is nice to be right :-)
The end of an era....but it sounds like a 'nice' end.
I'm not surprised it sold quickly, it's a lovely place in a beautiful setting.
Thanks Sandra :)
Thanks Mersad. It will be good to be rid of the responsibility before winter sets in again.
I know, Louise. No special reason to anticipate "the worst" though, I think.
Mostly glad, Ginny. We've had enough time to say our goodbyes, and I can't see us regretting the sale as such, even if a whiff of nostalgia may come along now and then.
Thanks Adrian.
Yes you did, Meike. And I'm glad you were right! :)
Yes Graham, that's how I feel myself (fingers crossed that all continues according to plan).
Thank you Janet.
Halleluja!
With Swedish spelling and all :)

That was a nice quick sale, congratulations.
Das klingt ganz wunderbar!
You worked a lot in advance to make this "friendly" end possible, and you left something very worthy in the house: A good and clean atmosphere, purified not only in a physical way, but also spiritually, emotionally.
As GB wrote, it looks like the end of an era for you, a well done project to keep life in flow.
I hope that the new owners are going to appreciate the house & the place as much as you did.
All the best!
mo.
Congratulations!!! I am so happy for you.
