From Lund, Skåne, Sweden
The city of Lund is full of charming old houses.
And in July, hollyhocks and roses in bloom everywhere.
Often flourishing in seemingly impossible places!

A lovely reminder of summer!
Those are huge Hollyhocks!!! They are abundantly gorgeous. I count them among what I call the old fashioned flowers.
love the hollyhocks, in fact love all the flowers... and the houses they are in front of also
I imagine it would've been a hot day there, everything would've been soaking up the sun.
What strikes me most about all your photos is just how clean everywhere is.
Yes. This December has been so dark and wet that it's been quite a joy to look back at my summer holiday pictures instead for inspiration :)
Yes I think tend to think of them that way too, but that may be because I've mostly seen them together with old fashioned houses!
Sandra, I found Lund quite magic with all these little back streets with old houses and their hollyhocks and roses outside.
Amy, we were in luck with the weather on this year's road trip - it was sunny without being "too" hot. (While the year before, the whole summer was unnaturally much too hot and dry for far too long.)
Graham, I think Swedish summer at its best tends to enhance that effect (i.e. enough rain to keep nature fresh, but we were also in luck with sunny weather for photographs). But there are probably also some extra efforts made in summer to keep touristy places looking their best.
