The difference that one sunny day can make this time of year... (Photos from the same flower bed as in yesterday's post.)
Today must also have been the warmest day here yet this year, + 11'C (52'F). Even if it's likely to get colder again next week, spring is definitely making progress.
My strained knee is better but I did not feel not sure it would be up for walking all the way into town and back just yet. I managed my usual short Friday walk in the opposite direction to dispose of some recycling stuff in the right bins though; plus a bit of an extended detour on the way back.

Yes, sometimes even a few minutes make a difference to flowers opening in the sun - or closing when it gets dark :-) I like the woodland path, my kind of place!
ReplyDeleteGood to read your knee is better. Do you know what caused the pain?
Meike, that knee has a tendency to get easily overstrained since way back. Probably a bit of arthrosis, but not too serious so far. Feels like it's a lot about keeping a balance between too much vs too little...
DeleteYour flower photos are GORGEOUS!!! Ours aren't this far along yet.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ginny. That flower bed is in a sunny spot next to a wall facing south west, a good place to look for the first spring flowers...
DeleteLovely colours, so nice to see after Winter, right? My garden is starting to slow down, I have pumpkins growing and luckily so are my roses still.
ReplyDeleteAmy. If not for different seasons we probably wouldn't appreciate neither flowers nor fruit as much!
DeleteSun brings hope and energy and life
ReplyDeleteI like the woodland route you took and those flowers are just stunning. sun makes things grow like crazy
ReplyDeleteSandra, that path is very short (only a few minutes walk), along a woodland hill between two streets. Later on in spring there will also be wood anemones to be seen there, but not yet.
DeleteWhat great spring flowers in your first photo. I'd like a short cut in walks, but not sure of that hill!
ReplyDeleteBarbara, that path runs along the bottom of the hill - no need to go up there!! :)
DeleteBeautiful post
