Snowdrops can now be found in several flowerbeds around where I live, but today I also found the first tiny buds of yellow and blue crocuses in a particularly sunny spot. (In spite of the sun not really showing its face much this week.)
A different sign of spring could also be seen and heard around my neighbourhood today:
A street sweeper collecting the winter gravel from the walk/cycle paths.
my first ever viewing of this machine. wow. I love big machines and watching them, looks all clear of snow for now and the flowers are gorgeous..
ReplyDeleteSandra, yes, it's been a while now since the last sight of snow. One never quite knows, though...
DeleteFirst flowers are a note of grace I think...just pushing up from frozen earth to give such joy in their color, perfection and beauty. I haven't ever seen a street sweeper like that...it looks quite efficient.
ReplyDeleteBarbara, the first colourful flowers after a long winter are always a joy to see :)
DeleteLovely spring shoots are happening
ReplyDeleteIndeed, Ro.
DeleteThis is a fancy sweet sweeper. It looks nothing like the ones we have.
ReplyDeleteGinny, I can't recall ever having seen one of exactly this design before either. Maybe it's new.
DeleteSpring flowers are such a delight, bright and colourful.
ReplyDeleteThey're certainly a most welcome sight after the colourless winter.
DeleteLovely spring flowers, your weather must have turned very much warmer.
ReplyDeleteThat is a very fancy street sweeper. Much more effective than the one that comes round here every so often. It's very small and has two rotating brushes at the front which don't help pick anything up. It sprays water and just spreads all the rubbish and gravel about even more!
Carol, around +11C here today - but likely to turn colder again next week. I don't think I ever saw a street sweeper of this kind before myself, I recall them having rotating brushes along the front too. So maybe this is a new kind. It seems to have done its job on the walk/bike paths around here, anyway.
