It's That Time of Year again - i.e. time to repeat once again that I don't get the point of "daylight saving time", and probably never will, and that I wish they'd put a stop to all that nonsense once and for all... (Etc etc. You've heard it all before!)
Grudingly, I changed all of my manual clocks and watches before I went to bed last night (probably except one, that I won't discover until later). But of course that did not help my "inner clock" in the slightest.
So this morning I had breakfast at 10:30 (clock time); and two hours later, of course my stomach still does not agree with the clocks about it being time for lunch already.
Outdoors, Nature is keeping its own slow pace; still mixing sunny days with more grey and foggy and rainy ones with lower temperatures. (Today seems to be one of the latter kind.)
Having whiled away a while writing this blog post, it might now be time to start preparing a "late" light lunch after all... (Clock on my computer screen showing 13:20.)
It takes a while to adjust to the 'new' time. I suppose it's helpful to some.
ReplyDeleteYour crocuses are gorgeous, so bright and clear.
Janice, here in Sweden I think the sun stays up long enough in summer anyway.
DeleteI could rant for days about the time change, it changes nothing, THEY just keep doing it. in USA we have more than the time change to rant about now.. ha ha those flowers are gorgerous. with summer on the way do you have any plans for another vacation with your brother? I would love to go on one with my brother, but with out Bob. we went on one vacation with the 4 of us, and UGH. never again
ReplyDeleteSandra, I agree that there are other things in world politics just now worth more attention than that hour back or forth twice a year. It's just so much easier to rant about minor problems compared to the really big issues... As for vacation plans, my brother and I don't usually plan all that far ahead. It's usually been in July or August that we've made our little trips, I think.
DeleteOh, I hate it too! I didn't wake until after 9am this morning and then the day is half gone! Silly idea.
ReplyDeleteJenny, I'm going to have to set more than one alarm clock next Friday, when I have a dentist's appointment at 11... ;-)
DeleteDoes anyone actually think it is a good idea to change the time twice a year? If that person exists, I have yet to meet them!
ReplyDeleteIt‘s been a mostly grey and chilly weekend here, with a blustery wind making it feel even colder. But that does not stop nature on its spring course, which is good to observe.
Meike, I suspect that the people I hear defending it sometimes are those who tend to keep clinging to ideal images of an endless row of lazy summer holiday evenings spent outdoors, either in their own garden or at some holiday resort...
DeleteGorgeous flowers! I hate the time changes as well. Your time change is not at the same time as ours.
ReplyDeleteThe colours of spring are gorgeous
ReplyDeleteThe spring flowers are so cheerful.
ReplyDeleteThe time changes do seem totally pointless and so annoying. I'm sure I've read that Spain will not be changing after this year, but have no idea if we will be one or two hours out of line with the rest of Europe!
Our daylight savings is due to end this coming Sunday, I am not looking forward to it as it means Winter is on the way.
ReplyDeleteDaylight saving time really is the worst—just when you think you’ve got life figured out, boom, they steal an hour from you. And for what? Your poor stomach is out here trying to make sense of the betrayal while nature just does its thing, completely unbothered.
ReplyDeleteAlso, there’s always that one clock you forget to change, and it jumpscares you at the worst possible moment. Hope your “late” light lunch made up for the time confusion—at least food is always on our side.
