What makes you choose the books you read?
Genre? Reviews? Certain authors? Covers? Recommendations?
To put it simply: Yes! – to all of the above :)
Plus what mood I happen to be in.
PS. Just now I’m reading Elegy for Eddie (a Maise Dobbs novel) by Jacqueline Winspear. Because I had it and was still in the mood for it from the previous book in the series (A Lesson in Secrets, link to my review).

I recently read one of the Maisie Dobbs books...after noticing it on various blogs. So now I want to read the whole series.
That's how it works for me...noticing, acquiring, and reading.
Here's MY BTT POST
and owning a kindle makes all your YES easy to do.
Oh yes... the mood plays a factor, too.

REVIEWS!!!!
Mine is a combination of factors too.
2 Kids and Tired Books BTT
Yes to all that, too. Plus I have been approached twice now by authors who asked me to read and review their books. One is non-fiction and the other is fiction. I am parallel-reading them both at the moment; the reviews will of course be on my blog once I've finished them.
Maybe the least influential factor for me is the cover, especially when it comes to reading material for my Kindle.
I've certainly found that reviews by fellow bloggers (you and Meike springing immediately to mind) have influenced my recent purchases (and a few gifts as well).
