… so lately I’ve experimented with imported fruits.
They’re absolutely delicious, of course, but not as easy as strawberries.
Any tips on how to get the most out of a pineapple, or a mango? How best to cut it, peel it, whatever? Sandra? Virginia? Anyone??

Well I'm no good with the pineapple, since the wayside vendors cut mine up for me when I purchase from them...I never buy from the supermarket.
The mangoes on the other hand look like gorgeous table mangoes. Cut off each side of the mango leaving the seed for last. You can then dice the flesh of each half and scoop it out, or do like me and cut each of the halves into strips and then eat them that way.
The seed I eat the flesh off by hand...be careful of the juice....it flows quite quickly and you may end up full of mango juice. Eat the seed over a plate or over the sink while saying "Aaah, uuummmmm...sooo good..."
Enjoy!!
the pineapple, i lay it on its side, whack off the bottom and the top, stand it up and slice down with the knife, taking off the outer edge in pieces about 2 or 3 inches wide. lay it down on its side and slice and then i cut the chunks off the core and toss the core, put it in plastic and keep in fridge. or if you want slices cut out the core or cut slice in half and cut out the core.
the mango we peel like and apple.
Strawberries are strawberries after all! :D But what I love to do with pineapples is bake! For example: Pineapple upside down cake

I can cut a pineapple up in probably a minute. You need a big sharp knife, a chef's knife works well. First, cut a slice off the bottom so it stands well. Then stand it up and holding onto the green top, start cutting all around from top to bottom. then lay it down and cut the top off.
I have done it Sandra's way too, both are good.
The mango is easy to cut and peel. I'm glad you got so much pineapple advice, I wouldn't have a clue as I don't really like them.
I love pineapple and have a wonderful gadget for dealing with them.
Of all fruit, pineapple and lychee are probably my least favourite, but I do eat them when they are part of a fruit salad. As for mango, I don't think I have ever had one at home, only as part of a delicious dessert at my favourite Indian restaurant.
At the moment, I very much enjoy peaches and apricots, and from my parents' allotment, I am getting raspberries and blackberries, which are so, so very good.
