Good grief!!! Knitting and crochet is turning up in so many public places lately! Are you sure this isn't another one of your works of art? What a cool find!!!
this is just toooo funny. made me laugh when it opened. i can't even imagine someone doing all that work on a park bench. did you sit on it to see if it made it softer? have that picture in my HEAD... LOL.
A work of art it may be, but not an "official" one. I first saw a picture of it in the newspaper. They interviewed the town's head gardener about it (the bench is in the town park) but he seemed mostly amused. I think it was a few days or a week later that I passed the bench myself and the "decoration" was still there, but partly beginning to fall off. I straightened it out a bit before I took the photo ;) That was four days ago; not sure if it's still there.
Too funny! I wonder why someone put it there?" - somehow I don't think it would have been because the bench was hard. Whatever the reason, I bet lots of people appreciated it.
I've read about it this kind of thing but not seen it before. As Ginny says, I think it has become sort of trendy, a kind of textile graffiti. Our town is a textile centre and has a textile college. I guess (but have no proof!) that it might have been an end-of-term student prank.

Hysterical. I agree with Ginny, random piece of public art?

Very cool idea. Some park benches are hard. I think it is fun.
HA! You find some of the greatest things. Never have I seen one of these :)
That is so funny! I love it.

I love this trend for apparently spontaneous public art and, indeed, for the amount of public outdoor art that there now is.
That made me laugh! But...after a while she has to start mending:)
