Slow down and enjoy life. It's not only the scenery you miss by going to fast - you also miss the sense of where you are going and why. ~ Eddie Cantor ~
Nothing like a walk in Nature to put things into perspective!
I totally agree - nothing like a walk in nature. We've been having glorious autumn weather and I've been out and about shooting photos! Have a great week,
Beautiful pictures! I just love the first one. I started at the top and scrolled down and down the tall trees, to finally see a teeny tiny person walking by them. Nature just dwarfs us!
When young GB and I both learned a poem by William Henry Davies that went:-
What is this life if, full of care, We have no time to stand and stare. No time to stand beneath the boughs And stare as long as sheep or cows. No time to see when woods we pass, Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass. No time to see, in broad daylight, Streams full of stars, like skies at night. No time to turn at Beauty's glance, And watch her feet, how they can dance. No time to wait till her mouth can Enrich that smile her eyes began. A poor life this if, full of care, We have no time to stand and stare.
CJ - thanks for reminding me of the poem. GB - you also posted it on June 4, 2009. I know because it was that summer I started following your blog. And I remember the date because I later made note of the significance of that date for you.
i think these are The Most Inspiring photos of trees i have ever seen, you managed to let us SEE how tall and majestic and stunning they are. the person in the middle of the road speaks volumes, it tells a story, many stories, depending on who views it. it puts us puny little humans in perspective to God for me. stupendous photos

I so much agree with your words!! No point rushing when you can still reach destination enjoying all that comes along the way!!
Particularly enjoyed your first shot. The quote is something I definitely need to remember.
I think that your first photo is beautiful. In fact I think this post is one that I shall treasure and remember.
I agree with GB - a lovely first picture.

A reference to that poem was one of my early posts back in 2008 just after CJ's visit to the Hebrides. I wish that I took more heed of it!
