F for Flowers (ABC Wednesday)

2012-02-21

Above are the other Flowers (besides the tulips in Monday’s post) that I bought at the Florist’s this week.

On the left: A yellow begonia for my kitchen window.
On the right: a pink streptocarpus for my bedroom window.

I was very happy to find the latter, because this meant finally also learning its name, which I’ve been trying to figure out ever since I got a blue one last summer:

För mina svenska läsare: Kornettblomma är det svenska namnet.

  4. Thanks for posting the yellow begonia. I don't care for begonias, but that was before I saw this yellow one! I have never seen a yellow one and it is BEAUTIFUL!! I didn't even know there was such a thing. As to the other flower, the blue one is gorgeous and intense!!! It does not look that much like the purple one to me, though! Iteresting that they are the same flower, I have never heard of it, either. I always love learning new things on your blogs. Beauty AND education!

  5. I was going to say that the one on the right looks like it has leaves of what in the UK we would call primula or primrose. I see it is called a Cape Primrose. I haven't checked to see if it's the same family as the ones I know as primulas. Must do that.
