Sunrise from my kitchen window this morning.
And from the living room.
Went for a walk around the old cemetery nearby.
No, they are not ski poles... They are walking poles!
I have not been on skis since I was 12 - and even then I was no good at it...

Gosh that really is a good frost. It was 6 ℃ here first thing and the sun shone all day. Bizarre.
ReplyDeleteWe've been having mild weather here too, Graham. Very few frosty mornings so far but today happened to be one!
DeleteThat's a nice view from your window. The sky is really a nice color in the early morning.
ReplyDeleteNot so very early this time of year, Mersad... (sunrise about 8:45)
Deletelove that last pic of you and the walking sticks. my friend is going to get them, someone told her they work better than her two canes. love your coat and your view from your window each morning.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sandra. I use the walking poles for short exercise walks now and then. Sometimes in winter I also use just one of them for a bit of extra support when it is (or may be) slippery outside. (In some situations it's not practical to take both - like if you also have to carry something...)
DeleteWonderful colours! We're both lucky to have views from our kitchen windows that are never boring, don't we, Monica :-)
ReplyDeleteAnd the magpie sat there just in time to be part of the picture, too.
Your outfit is perfect and suits you very well - cosy and warm, and wearing a red scarf and gloves with what otherwise would have been a monochrome look shows your knack for good combination.
Thanks Meike. For some strange reason, a lot of people in this country seem to prefer wearing just black, black, black in winter. I don't get it... As if this season wasn't dark enough anyway! ;) Even if one has black coat, it's easy to vary the look with colourful accessories.
DeleteExactly my impression here! Way too many people wear dark stuff now. Some manage to brighten their outfits up with accessories, but the overall theme seems to be black. I don't own a black coat...
DeleteI think I've only owned one black coat in my life, Meike, and that was way back in my upper teens. Black boots, skirts and trousers I find tobe good basic items in the wardrobe, but I almost never wear all black from top to toe.
DeleteYou ought to have kept quiet. You look dressed for skiing.
ReplyDeleteAdrian, if walking poles may look a bit silly, that's nothing compared to trying to ski on a green lawn with barely a touch of frost...
DeleteBeautiful sunrise, and frosted green branches!
ReplyDeleteWinter sunrises can be amazing - and perhaps seem even more so because the sunny days are rare...
DeleteThese are some awesome skies. The frost on the plants is captured beautifully. I might have to ask Santa for some walking poles this year after seeing yours and realizing they could come in handy :)
