It's New Year's Eve. Barbie is off to a fancy ball and just wants to show off her dress before she leaves. It's another creation of my mum's from back in the 1960s. Originally it had a white "rose" attached on the front, which some 55 years later looked rather dated. But I found a replacement in my crafts box that is a perfect colour match with the dress itself.
Skipper will be staying home with me, watching a film.

Happy New Year, everyone!
Happy New Year to you. I shall be celebrating with an early night!
ReplyDeleteJayCee, trying to go to sleep early here on New Year's Eve is doomed to fail as there's too much noise from fireworks going on...
DeleteHappy New Year, Monica! Skipper looks all set for a fun and cosy evening in with you, watching a film, while Barbie will be the Belle of the ball.
ReplyDeleteThanks Meike. Had to grab the opportunity to show off that ball gown... ;-)
DeleteHappy New Year, Monica!
ReplyDeleteBarbie looks very glomorous, but a little apprehensive, or has she been celebrating early!
Carol, I think she was just feeling a bit nervous. After all, she's not been out and about much since way back in the 1960s! ;-) (Happy New Year to you, too.)
DeleteThanks Duta, and the same to you!
ReplyDeleteThe ball gown certainly is quite a show-stopper.
ReplyDeleteGraham, I'm having a bit of a childhood revival since I decided to keep these two dolls. ;-) (Don't regret donating six more + clothes to the Salvation Army shop back in spring, though.)
